Why we build every website on WordPress

WordPress runs more than 40% of all websites on the internet — not because it's trendy, but because it's open-source and portable. For a business owner, that means one thing: no one can hold your website hostage. Not a platform, not a vendor, not even us.

What a WordPress build from us includes

  • Lightweight, fast theme — no bloated page builders; Core Web Vitals targets met on launch.
  • Native editor setup — editing pages is as simple as writing a document.
  • Security hardening — firewall, login protection, daily backups.
  • SEO foundation — clean structure, meta tags, schema markup, Search Console.
  • Full handover — admin credentials, hosting access, and a walkthrough session.

Selling products? The same ownership logic powers our WooCommerce ecommerce builds.

Pricing

Same fixed packages — WordPress is the engineering, not an upcharge

This page is not a separate product. Every Starter and Business website we sell is a WordPress build to the standard described here — RM1,488 and RM2,888, identical to the published price list. Vendors who price “WordPress” as a premium line item are charging you for the name of free software.

This is really about you — not websites

Who you are

You've already paid for a website once.

Maybe it was a builder subscription that added up, a vendor who vanished with the passwords, or a platform that held your site hostage at renewal time. You're not new to this — you're back, warier and smarter, determined not to repeat it.

What it feels like

Fool me twice — no thanks.

The frustrating part isn't the money. It's that you did the responsible thing — got a website — and ended up with less control than before you started. Now every vendor's promise sounds the same, and you can't tell the honest ones from the polished ones.

The way out

Choose the architecture that can't trap you.

WordPress is open-source: your files, your database, portable to any host, serviceable by any developer on Earth. We build on it precisely because it makes us replaceable — and vendors who make themselves replaceable are the only ones you can trust with the keys.

Our exact stack, published

The five components in every build — and why each one

LayerWhat we useWhy this and not the popular alternative
ThemeGeneratePressUnder 30KB. Most "premium" themes ship 300KB+ of code you'll never use — and every kilobyte is loading time your customer pays for on 4G.
EditorNative GutenbergNo Elementor, no Divi. Page builders add 300–800ms to every load and lock your content into their shortcodes — a soft lock-in dressed as convenience. Native blocks are faster and outlive any plugin.
SEOYoast SEO PremiumMeta tags, schema markup, sitemaps, breadcrumbs, redirects and cornerstone-content signalling handled properly — the technical vocabulary Google reads, configured by an operator who reads it back.
SpeedLiteSpeed Cache / WP Super Cache + WebP imagesConfigured against Core Web Vitals targets: LCP under 2.5s, mobile PageSpeed ≥85 — measured before launch, not promised after.
SecurityWordfence + hardening (below)Because "WordPress gets hacked" is really "unmaintained WordPress gets hacked".

Plugin discipline: ten plugins maximum, sitewide. Every plugin is code someone must maintain forever; every abandoned plugin is a future hole. Most "slow, broken WordPress" horror stories are really 40-plugin horror stories.

Security, specifically

The 8 hardening measures on every site we ship

  1. Web application firewall (Wordfence) filtering malicious traffic before it reaches WordPress
  2. Login protection: rate limiting + non-default admin URL — killing the bot brute-force attacks that hit every WordPress site within days of launch
  3. Daily automated off-site backups — restorable in hours, not "we'll see what the host has"
  4. File-permission lockdown so a compromised plugin can't rewrite your site
  5. Automatic minor-version core updates; major updates tested first (on care plans)
  6. SSL enforced sitewide with HSTS — the padlock on every page, not just checkout
  7. Database prefix and configuration hardening against the standard injection playbook
  8. Uptime monitoring that alerts us before your customers notice anything

Items 1–8 ship with the build. Keeping them current over the years is what a care plan is for — optional, and honest about being optional.

What you'll be able to do yourself (really)

Because we build with the native editor, the handover walkthrough teaches you real skills in 20 minutes: edit any text like a document, swap photos, update prices and menus, add a testimonial, publish a simple news post. What you shouldn't touch — plugin updates, structural changes — we're clear about too. The recording is yours forever; most clients' staff learn from it without ever calling us.

Escaping a builder or platform: how migration works

Wix, directory platforms, a hostage WordPress site with an unresponsive vendor — the rescue runs the same four steps:

  1. Audit what exists and what’s salvageable (content usually is; structure usually isn’t).
  2. Secure the domain for you first — purchased or transferred under our management, documented as yours, exit-transferable anytime. This ends the hostage situation.
  3. Rebuild on the stack above, 10 days as usual.
  4. 301-redirect old URLs so any Google standing you’ve earned transfers instead of dying.

Bring a platform renewal invoice and the RM300 migration credit applies.

The platform decision

WordPress vs Wix vs custom code — the comparison for Malaysian SMEs

WordPress (our way)Wix / SquarespaceCustom-coded site
True ownershipFull — files + database portable anywhereNone — cancel the subscription, the site ceases to existFull, if you receive the source code (verify!)
Real cost over 3 yearsBuild once + ~RM300/yr dom/hostRM60–150/month forever = RM2,160–5,400, still owning nothingRM10k+ build, developer-dependent forever
Who can service itAny WordPress developer on Earth — millionsOnly the platform itselfRealistically, the person who wrote it
SEO ceilingHigh — full control of everything Google readsAdequate for basics; ceilings appear exactly when you get ambitiousHigh, if the developer knew SEO (many don't)
Ecommerce economicsGateway fees onlyPlatform transaction cuts on top, on some plansCustom checkout = custom liability
Failure modeNeglect → fixable by anyone, anytimePrice hike or feature removal → nothing you can doDeveloper unavailable → site frozen in time

The pattern: builders optimise for the first week (easy!), custom code optimises for the developer (interesting!), WordPress-done-properly optimises for the years — which is where your business actually lives. There are cases for the alternatives: a hobby project fits a builder fine; software products need custom code. A Malaysian SME's marketing site and store fit neither exception.

Speed engineering

Why our sites load in under 2.5 seconds — the specifics

Speed isn't a plugin you install; it's discipline at five layers. This is what "fast" is made of on every site we ship:

  1. Images — the usual 60% of the problem: every image converted to WebP (typically 30–70% smaller than JPG), sized to its actual display dimensions, lazy-loaded below the fold. A hero photo that arrives as an 8MB camera file leaves our pipeline at ~120KB looking identical.
  2. Code weight: the sub-30KB theme and no-page-builder rule (explained above) means the browser parses kilobytes, not megabytes, before painting.
  3. Caching: pages pre-generated and served instantly rather than rebuilt for every visitor — LiteSpeed Cache or equivalent, configured, not just activated.
  4. Fonts: two families maximum, only the weights we use, loaded with font-display swap so text is readable during load instead of invisibly waiting.
  5. Hosting honesty: we specify hosts with Singapore/Malaysia region servers — physics matters; a US server adds 200ms+ to every round trip for a Johor visitor before anything else happens.

Why the obsession: Google's Core Web Vitals make speed a ranking input directly, and conversion research has said the same thing for a decade — seconds cost enquiries. We verify with PageSpeed Insights before launch and the score goes in your handover pack, so "fast" is a number you hold us to, not an adjective.

The handover hour

Exactly what happens in your training session

The final-day walkthrough runs ~45–60 minutes on a screen-share (recorded — the recording is the real deliverable, because nobody remembers a walkthrough). The agenda, so you know what you'll be able to do after:

  • Minutes 0–10 — the tour: logging in, what each dashboard menu does, and — importantly — which areas to leave alone.
  • Minutes 10–30 — the edits you'll actually make: changing text on any page, swapping a photo (with the size guideline that keeps the site fast), updating prices/menus/opening hours, adding a testimonial.
  • Minutes 30–40 — publishing something new: creating a simple news/update post from the template we leave behind; where it appears; how it looks on mobile.
  • Minutes 40–50 — the safety rails: where daily backups live and how to reach them, what the security plugin's emails mean, what to do (and who to message) if something ever looks wrong.
  • Minutes 50–60 — your questions, which are usually better than any agenda.

After handover you also keep a one-page cheat sheet PDF of the common tasks. Most clients' admin staff become self-sufficient on edits within a week — which is precisely the point of building on an editor humans can use.

FAQ

WordPress questions

Why WordPress and not Wix or a website builder?

Builders are easy to start and hard to leave — your site lives on their servers, under their pricing, forever. WordPress is open-source: your files, your database, your hosting choice. If you ever want to move hosts or agencies, everything comes with you.

Is WordPress good for SEO?

Excellent — with the right setup. Clean URLs, full control of meta tags and schema, fast themes and proper heading structure. Every site we build ships with the SEO foundation in place; ongoing ranking work is our SEO Malaysia service.

Will I be able to edit the website myself?

Yes. We build with the native WordPress editor (no bloated page builders), so editing text, photos and prices is genuinely simple. Every project includes a handover walkthrough.

Isn't WordPress insecure?

Unmaintained WordPress is insecure — like an unserviced car. We harden every build (firewall, login protection, daily backups) and our care plans keep core and plugins updated so vulnerabilities get patched fast.

Can you fix or redesign my existing WordPress site?

Yes — rescue jobs are common. We audit what's there, keep what works, rebuild what doesn't, and put ownership and access properly in your name.

Have a WordPress site that needs rescuing?

Slow, hacked, or held hostage by an old vendor — send us the URL and we'll tell you honestly what it needs.
